Bring your food labeling skills to the next level!

This advanced seminar has been updated to include FDA's new labeling regulations, requirements for food additives, GRAS substances, label claims, and front-of-package symbols. Update your nutrition facts formatting skills when you learn the latest FDA requirements effective. Manufacturers with $10 million or more in annual food sales only have until July 26, 2018 to make sure their products on the shelves are displaying the newest nutrition facts label format. With some products having an extended shelf-life that means that the time to act is now! Two workshop sessions allow you to test your skills in determining whether certain label claims can be made, evaluating legal acceptability of currently marketed food product label claims, and determining how to bring faulty labels into compliance.

After this seminar you’ll know how to:

  • Distinguish between various substances, additives, and ingredients
  • Explain the regulatory approval process for each class of ingredients
  • Assess claim compliance on food packaging
  • Use raw data to determine whether specific claims may be made

Upon successful completion of this course you will receive 1.1 IACET continuing education units.
